Item Description
Sections of three large tourmaline crystals are jauntily set in the lustrous, bladed cleavelandite matrix on this rare and large example from the locality from which Paraiba (cuprian elbaite) was first discovered in 1982. Portions of the 7.8 cm rubellite crystal on the left contain areas of the famous Paraiba blue color (due to minute amounts of copper). Traces of blue color are noted on the 6.0 cm crystal on the right side. Matrix specimens, such as this, are rare, desirable and are very seldom on the market. Value??
