Item Description
A sharp and sculptural triangular small cabinet cluster of "paper" calcite blades is dramatically preferentially accented with a myriad of smaller second generation calcite rhombs. This artistic and uncommon calcite is from an obscure extinct deposit in eastern San Diego County. The Hilton deposit was developed during World War II for optical grade (Iceland spar) calcite for the military (MINDAT). Mining ceased during the war, with some collecting afterward. Ex Bill Larson San Diego County Collection and long on display at his Pala International shop in Fallbrook. A choice, aesthetic calcite from the uncommon locale. These are simply not for sale at any price and we were fortunate to get this old collection of such treasures. When they are gone...they are gone~!
