Palygorskite and Quartz, on Sulfides

Item Description

Combination piece of the white silicate Palygorskite, intergrown on sharp, lustrous Quartz crystals, all on a sulfide matrix. The Quartz crystals can exceed 1 cm, and they have gemmy terminations with white phantoms within. The Quartz is surrounded by a veritable sea of the soft white Palygorskite, and it almost looks like skyscrapers rising above the fog.
