Palenzonaite (incredibly rare) (ex Franceso Bedogne Collection)

Palenzonaite is an incredibly rare calcium, sodium, manganese vanadate that is found in only 9 localities in the world. The piece is actually from the type locality, the Molinello Mine in Genoa, Italy. A RICH coverage of dark reddish-brown Palenzonaite covers the underlying matrix. We have photographed the crystals with a Canon MP-E macro lens to better illustrate the quality. He was also the founder of the Valtellinese Mineralogical Institute.
