Item Description
Padparadscha Sapphire is one of the most well known hues for a gem in the world. I have seen many different pink to orange shades of Sapphire labeled as being a Padparadscha, and some dealers are a bit more liberal with their labeling, going into the purples and reds. According to Richard Hughes, the ideal color of a Padparadscha has been described by some as the marriage between a pink Sri Lankan lotus flower and an orange sunset. This stone fits the bill for color, although it's slightly more orange than pink. The stone has an "Oval" cut, and is virtually eye clean. A superb little stone with good color that would make a great addition to a Sapphire gem suite, since Sapphires exhibit virtually every color of the rainbow.
