Item Description

A very rich, RARE and large combination small cabinet from this REE pegmatite. Glassy, orange-brown to honey-brown oxycalciomicrolite (a rare Ta-oxide) octahedrons, to 6 mm, are festooned on four sides of the hefty, euhedral, tantalite-(Mn) crystal. MINDAT does not recognize oxycalciomicrolite from here and suggests, that these are Microlite Group crystals. An analysis would have to be performed, for a definitive answer. Irregardless, this is an exceptionally rich, large and rare example of the combination species from the Matioli Collection. Hefty a 600 grams mass! Valued at $1500. Try to find another.
