Item Description
Ottrélite is a rare member of the Chloritoid Group, and more specifically the manganese analogue of the mineral species Chloritoid. This piece is a seldom seen example from the Salmchâteau locality in Vielsalm, Luxembourg, Belgium. The piece hosts dozens of small, but distinct, dark Ottrélite crystals, measuring to about 1-2 mm, frozen into the gray host rock matrix. The specific locality on this one is notable, as I can't recall seeing an Ottrélite from Salmchâteau before.
