Orthoclase with Fluorite and Quartz (ex. Flynn)

Item Description

This is a great cluster of Orthoclase crystals from the Erongo Region in Namibia decorated with a couple of Fluorite cubes and some Quartz crystals. The crystals of Orthoclase on the piece are all porcelain white, especially at the terminations, whereas, some of the the prism faces are dusted with some very finely crystalline, silvery gray-white Muscovite. Several of the Orthoclase crystals show distinct Carlsbad interpenetration twinning for added interest! There are two dark, sea-green Fluorite cubes on the piece, one nestled among the Feldspar crystals and another out in front and both are nearly a centimeter across. There are a few colorless Quartz crystal groups strategically placed on the piece as well. They consist of several crystals from 1 to 2 cm in size, most with nice points. A small amount of jet-black Schorl Tourmaline as tiny needles and thin black prisms to to 1.5 cm that accent some of the Orthoclase crystals for great contrast. Ex.
