Orthoclase with Aquamarine

Item Description

This specimen is primarily a huge, sharp, amazing quality of feldspar crystal! It seems to be twinned, although each crystal has a clearly different habit, for some reason. A gem, 1-cm-long aquamarine at the base is a cute accent to this specimen. Of course, we mostly expect gem pegmatite crystals from gem pegmatites - but this is such a fine and sharp, amazing feldspar crystal, that it can go well with any collection of the more glamorous gem species from the same region. In fact, I might venture to say that a crystal of feldspar as fine as this is MORE rare than just another Pakistani aquamarine or topaz...and more desirable to some collectors. It is 360 degrees complete all round, and has fine porcelain-like luster better than 99 percent of them. It is an older specimen from the old dealer stock of Herb Obodda.
