Item Description

From a location more famous for amethyst and quartz, this is an elegant, towering cluster of sharp pearlescent white Orthoclase feldspar crystals that have a faint light yellowish hue. The dramatic pseudo-hexagonal crystals are sharply terminated with the dominate center crystal, 12.8 cm long and 2.1 cm wide, majestically rising above the grouping. It is in excellent condition with some wear on the lower right crystal noted. All in all a very clean somewhat unique solitary species without the clutter of associations. An uncommon high quality Feldspar from Brandberg. There is a small amount of Opal-AN (formerly "Hyalite" Opal) that can be seen on back of the specimen that fluoresces a brilliant green hue under SW UV light. Ex. Kurt Hefendehl.
