Item Description
A very rarely seen example of Orthoclase Feldspar in the form of a textbook, sharp, well-formed, beige colored "Baveno" twin from this lesser known locality in California. The piece is complete all the way around, but the termination is not complete. This twinning habit of Feldspar gets its name from the first discovery at Baveno, Italy, but examples are found all over the world. From the collection of Robert (Bob) Reynolds. Bob was a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of Earth Sciences at the San Bernardino County Museum in California. The rare phyllomanganate-chromate species Reynoldsite was named in his honor in 2011.
