Bright burnt-orange, lustrous, translucent orpiment crystals to 1.4 cm are richly and dramatically strewn in the sculptural vug on starkly contrasting black matrix on this exceptional specimen from the famous Getchell Mine. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 5275 and received as a gift in the late 1960s. Classic old-time orpiment mounted on a 1950s-60s styrofoam base with label for exhibition. This is very rich fine quality and uncommonly colorful orpiment from this noted locale. The crystal isolation and definition are remarkable. A MUST for the species or Nevada collector.
