Orpiment w/ Barite (New Find)

Item Description

Freelance miners have recently reopened this long-closed mine looking for specimens and there efforts have been rewarded with this showy and colorful New Find. Scintillating, nubby, burn-orange orpiment botryoids are starkly complimented by glassy, water-clear, tabular barite crystals on this fine plate. A bit of bruising is noted to a couple of barites, along with modest periphery wear, but this remains an excellent, colorful and highly representative combination specimen from this new find.
