Item Description
Orpiment specimens are very uncommon from any of the eight Iran localities, that MINDAT lists. Intergrown, lustrous, translucent, burnt-orange blades cover the front of this very rich and hefty piece, that is essentially solid crystalline orpiment. Rare on the market and probably from the 1960s or 70s. A showy and rich Iran rarity. Possibly from the Zareh Shuran Mine. Ex Gustav Beck Collection. 641 grams or 1.4 pounds mass.
