A lovely miniature from the now-famous find of Orpiment in Nevada that set a new standard of quality for the species. This specimen features very sharp, highly lustrous, translucent, well-formed, golden-orange crystals of Orpiment measuring up to 1.0 cm on matrix. Very good quality, though some rough spots are visible. Very attractive up close, especially that beautiful color! A good overall piece of this classic contemporary material. From the collection of Gary Weaver of Prescott, Arizona (1944-2019). Gary was an electrical engineer who worked for many years for Hughes Aircraft in California.
