Extraordinary matrix orpiment from the famous late 1990s-early 2000s finds at the Twin Creeks Gold Mine. These are generally considered to be the world's finest examples of the species. Matrix specimens were very uncommon. An impressive, 2.3 cm, lightly striated, glowing yellow-orange crystal with a chisel termination dominates this sculptural and rich piece. Simply an outstanding and rare matrix small cabinet, as isolated crystals of this size and quality are rare. Most pieces were dense crystal clusters and were without matrix. Specimens of this quality and aesthetics are rare and are very seldom on the market today. Value??
