An excellent matrix specimen of extremely lustrous, golden-yellow, gemmy orpiment crystals with flashes of yellow fire and chisel terminations from the 2001 find at the famous Twin Creeks Gold Mine of Nevada. Two crystals reach 2.2 cm on this specimen. The crystals along one edge have an oxide coating. The backlit photo highlights the rich color. This gorgeous piece is from Cut 62 of the mine, one of the major producing areas. This fine specimen has only trivial periphery wear. Twin Creeks orpiment of this quality is comparable to any worldwide locality. Valued at $1000-1200. Pieces of this quality only come from recycled collections.
