This large open pit gold mine, recovering microscopic gold ore, has produced probably the world's finest orpiment specimens starting with the remarkable and very surprising Cut 62 find in 1999. Gemmy, extremely lustrous, rich golden-yellow color crystals with textbook chisel terminations are richly and aesthetically clustered on this sculptural small cabinet. The impressive projecting compound crystal is 2.0 cm tall and the well-striated crystal on the upper left is 1.8 cm across on this high quality piece. The crystals have a glorious golden-orange GLOW, when back lit. See the 2000 Mineralogical Record article in Vol. 31, No. 4. A very fine and rich specimen from this noteworthy find. Valued at $1500.
