Item Description
Lustrous, translucent, rich burnt-orange orpiment crystals to about 1.2 cm with nifty yellow highlights and rounded chisel terminations form a showy and excellent plate from the famous Quiruvilca Mine of Peru. Pieces of this fine quality came out from the 1970s to 1981, with none since. This piece is in excellent condition, for its size, with only very trivial periphery wear. Quiruvilca Mine orpiment is comparable to any worldwide locality, including the well-known 2001 find at the famous Twin Creeks Gold Mine of Nevada
