These gorgeous Russian orpiments are possessed of one of the brightest and juiciest orange-red hues you will find in the mineral kingdom! They form in sparkly, ball-like clusters, which, observed closely, are actually extremely gemmy, euhedral crystals stacked closely together - of a higher quality, in fact, than even the famous Nevada orpiments - only smaller. This piece is in good shape, with just a bit of periphery wear. The contrast of the orpiment on the white matrix is dramatic!
