Item Description

Delicate and attractive, this cluster of rare orange Prehnite is from a small, 2000-02 find at the famous Nchwaning Mines. The cluster is composed of very gemmy Prehnite blades up to about 5 mm long, and they are associated a few red Inesite blades and a couple of totally gemmy Calcite crystals that average about 3-4 mm. Pleasing aesthetics. A goodthumbnail for the location, with a very good association. There is significance to orange Prehnite's rarity in the Kalahari fields, hence the scientific paper on them written by Bruce Cairncross.
