Item Description
Delicate, and quite attractive, radial 'bloom' of the rare orange Prehnite from the famous Nchwaning Mine. This is from a small find at NCwhaning during 2000-02. The cluster is composed of very gemmy Prehnite blades .6 cm long, with the overall cluster 1.5 cm across. The orange color is pure, and very pleasing to the eye. An excellent thumbnail of a VERY RARE find from the late 1990s. There is a whole scientific paper on them written by Bruce Cairncross as Prehnite seems to be significant in its rarity in the Kalahari fields. when found, these were mistaken for insite, but most definately are not
