Item Description

This is certainly one of the most sculptural and 3-dimensional larger orange creedite specimens we have offered at auction. The diverging form of the intergrown balls of creedite crystals is amazing and every orientation of the piece presents a dramatically different view. Gemmy burnt-orange to near colorless crystals, to about 1.4 cm, comprise this striking articulated piece. The bit of attached matrix adds character. Complete all-around and in great shape, with few broken crystals and modest attachment points, considering the crystal density. Certainly acceptable in the context of this remarkable piece. This locality may be extinct, as we have heard that the tunnel collapsed. A very fine example from the find.
