A beautiful and sculptural CABINET specimen of lustrous, layered opalzied wood from Oregon. Variable shades of rich brown comprise the piece. The base is actually the fossilized tree bark. This could make good carving rough. The locality might be either Opal Butte, Morrow County or Succor Creek, Malheur County (rare locale), Older material from the Dennis Mullane Collection. 481 grams or just over a pound.
