Item Description
Some of the most well known Fire Opal in the world is from Mexico. These specimens are among some of the biggest, brightest and most intense color Fire Opals from the Western Hemisphere. There has been a surge in the price of fine quality Fire Opal from Mexico in the last few years, as the material seems to be more and more difficult to obtain, especially in such vivid stones like this one. This piece has a creamy-peach color which when viewed in reflected light, shows a lovely array of brilliant color flash including blue, green, yellow, gold, orange and red. As you can see in the photos, there is a somewhat cellular or "lizard skin"-esque effect that is not often seen in this material It's a good thumbnail for the material, and these pieces are not coming out in any quantity these days it seems.
