Item Description
A classic Opalized mollusk shell pseudomorph / fossil from the famous locality at Coober Pedy, in South Australia, Australia. The piece is well-preserved, showing a soft grey-blue hue in reflected light, and more of a golden color when backlit. There is one small exposed area of Opal on one of the edges which shows attractive multi-color flash. There aren't too many places in the world where you find good quality Opal replacing / pseudomorphing shells like this, and the pieces from Australia are among the best in the world.
