Item Description
A wonderful "old world" Precious Opal from this historic locality. These were arguably the most well known Precious Opals in the world before they were discovered in Australia. Dubnik was the largest, oldest and most significant Opal deposit in Europe which has evidence of dating back to the times of the Romans. A few patches of bright, multi-colored Opal can be seen in the volcanic rock matrix. A mix of colors including blue, green, yellow, orange and gold can be seen. A nice reference specimen of this well known material.
