Despite it's rather simplistic chemistry (it's essentially Quartz with water content), Opals are incredibly diverse, as they range from opaque to transparent, and colors can be singular or show a multitude of hues in a single stone. The Opals from Australia are some of the most famous, sought after and VIVID gems in the world. This stone has a great mix of colors including green, purple and blue.
