The background of the stone is a soft purplish-blue shade, but the surface features sparkling flashes of nearly every color of the rainbow which can actually be seen on both sides of the stone. Opals are one of the few gems that can features multiple colors at once, and Australian Opals have been the standard for fine quality Opal for decades.
