Item Description
Rich neon-green SW UV fluorescence on the opalized top and other areas of this RARE large Thailand fossilized tree trunk or limb from this most obscure locale. The lustrous, waxy lustre, variable brown areas are the opalized sections of this fascinating rarity. Obtained by Chet Lemanski from local tribesmen in 1968 while he wsa stationed in Khorat by the US Army from borrow pits to build a nearby air base. This was during the Vietnam War during his service there, and he brought a bag of this material home and socked it away....I had never seen it before! Mass is 832 grams or 1.82 pounds. A MUST for the opal collector!
