This miniature sized piece is a beautiful example of this exciting Precious Opal replacing Petrified Wood from Java, Indonesia This piece features a few patches of highly colorful Precious Opal which shows bright color flashes of red, gold, orange, yellow, green and blue set against the dark brownish-black Petrified Wood. The specimen is slightly polished / rounded to help the Opal shine. The Opal is best seen when viewed up close and in sunlight or a strong indoor light. These come to us direct from a friend who travels directly to Indonesia to buy material. It's very worthwhile for collectors because it's not just a mineral specimen, nor a gem specimen nor a fossil, but a combination of all three.
