Opal in Petrified Wood

This piece is a nice little piece of Precious Opal in Petrified Wood from Java, Indonesia It features a few tiny area of highly colorful Precious Opal which shows bright color flashes of red, gold, orange, yellow and green set against the brownish-black Petrified Wood. The specimen is slightly polished / rounded to help the Opal shine. The Opal is best seen when viewed up close. It's very worthwhile for collectors because it's not just a mineral specimen, nor a gem specimen nor a fossil, but a combination of all three.
