Opal-AN (''Hyalite Opal'') on Smoky Quartz (ex David Burgess Collection)

This specimen is simply labeled as "Hyalite on Smoky Quartz - Uruguay". With that said, I can't find an entry in any database that mentions Hyalite Opal (now called Opal-AN) on Smoky Quartz from any locality in Uruguay, so if anybody has some insight as to where this piece could be from, please let us know, so we can update the listing with more detailed locality information. This piece features a patch of gemmy,Opal-AN with that classic "bead-like" structure, sitting atop a richly colored, translucent crystal of Smoky Quartz sitting on minor feldspar.  Most of the Opal "balls" are colorless, but there are a handful that actually show rich green hue in spots.   The back portion of the termination on the Smoky Quartz is contacted, but the piece looks good from the front when displayed. Like most Opal-AN, this piece fluoresces a beautiful bright green hue under SW UV light. This piece comes from the worldwide collection of David Burgess (1951-2016). David was a prolific species collector from Newington, Connecticut, and the namesake for the extremely rare cobalt arsenate species Burgessite, which he discovered.
