Opal-AN (Hyalite Opal) (Fluorescent)

Here we have a beautiful "Oval Brilliant" cut gem of Hyalite Opal, which is essentially color, gem grade Opal, but the difference is that it shows a bright green fluorescence under UV light. It's one of the differences between Hyalite and other Opals. I will point out that "Hyalite" is a now outdated term for what is properly defined as Opal-AN. Since the name "Hyalite" has been around for hundreds of years, it's still in use on a fairly regular basis, and usually in the gem world, traditional names tend to stick around.
