Item Description
When it comes to Hyalite Opal - the proper name is Opal (var Opal-AN) - there are hundreds of localities for the material in the world. Here we have a very hard to find specimen from the Blue Mesa Reservoir in southwestern Colorado. This specimen features groups of intergrown spherical "bead"-like nodules of Opal-AN which have good internal gemminess and are smartly sitting on host rock matrix. The Opal shows a green fluorescence in UV light. If you're an Opal collector, this is a worthwhile representative piece of this hard to find material.
