Item Description
Two generations of olmiite crystals form a colorful and impressive compound ball on this showy and excellent small cabinet from the famous Type Locality. Olmiite is rare hydroxyl Ca-Mn silicate found in only four localities worldwide. Glassy, translucent, pretty cinnamon-colored, densely packed orthorhombic crystals comprise most of the balls with an overgrowth of glassy flesh-colored crystals being a nice accessory. The bit of noted periphery wear is certainly only a modest detraction to this colorful and rich example from the Rob Sielecki Collection. unusual coloration. valued $750-1000
