Item Description
A superb, competition-level miniature matrix specimen hosting a 2-cm intensely sparkly, red-colored spherical crystal cluster of the mineral formerly known as poldervaartite... but now recognized to be a new species, Olmiite. I would complain, but this is much easier to spell. In any case, they are best of species (and only ones of species), and this is from the type find of several years ago. The brilliant luster on this piece places it in the top percentile of that find for outright quality. At the time, this would have been valued at, and I saw specimens similar selling for, $1000-2000.
