Item Description

An aesthetic doublet of two olmiite "balls" is jauntily perched on a sparing ball of matrix on this fine thumbnail from the 2009 find. Densely intergrown, glassy, translucent rose-pink rhombs comprise the "balls". The famous N'Chwaning II Mine is the Type Locality of this rare silicate. This is from a pocket collected by Paul Balayer with permission in the mines.
