These specimens were initially sold as Poldervaartite, but it turns out the vast majority of them are Olmiite, making Poldervaartite an incredibly rare species. With that said, if it were not for the specimens from the N'Chwaning Mines, most people would have no knowledge of the species Olmiite. Despite its noteworthy presence on the market for the past several years, is a remarkably rare species, only found in four mines in the world! The N'Chwaning specimens are the cream of the crop as they are iconic and exemplary representations of this gorgeous calcium manganese silicate. It's important to note that Olmiite has only been a valid species for a fairly short time, so it has to be one of the most significant discoveries in decades as most new species are often microscopic and not terribly colorful. This piece features good quality spherical groups of well-crystallized, highly lustrous, beautiful pastel pinkish colored Olmiite measuring up to 2.3 cm across with Calcite on matrix.
