Item Description

Glassy and gemmy, tan, elongated orthorhombic crystals of olmiite attractively incrust a "mountain range" of glassy, water-clear, calcite spikes on this very showy complete all-around piece from the recent find. A trivial bit of periphery wear is noted and you can barely discern that a few of the calcite scalenohedrons have gently cleaved terminations. Because of the association, this is certainly one of the finer and more aesthetic miniature olmiite and calcite combinations that we received from the NEW, Fall 2008 find at the famous Nchwaning II Mine. Olmiite was formerly known as poldervaartite, prior to recent extensive testing.
