Item Description

An outstanding mounded and rounded crust of very glassy and gemmy, flesh-colored, elongated orthorhombic crystals of olmiite from the NEW, Fall 2008 find at the famous Nchwaning II Mine of South Africa. This is a very fine and uncommon varietal, where the crystals are much more discrete and freestanding, rather than being in rounded balls. This is a excellent example from this find. Olmiite was formerly known as poldervaartite, prior to recent extensive testing.
