Item Description
A showy and excellent matrix olmiite specimen. Very glassy and gemmy, rose-brown to tan to colorless, elongated orthorhombic crystals of olmiite richly cover the sculptural matrix on this piece from the NEW, Fall 2008 find at the famous Nchwaning II Mine of South Africa. This is an excellent, gemmy matrix example with very little bruising from this find and it really glows a beautiful rose-red with good light. Olmiite was formerly known as poldervaartite, prior to recent extensive testing.
