Item Description
An impressive large sphere of olmiite, on manganite matrix, from the famous Nchwaning II Mine in South Africa. This sphere consists of hundreds of overlapping rhombs, whose crystal edges show very nicely along the surface of the sphere. These opaque crystals are flesh-colored, and have excellent luster. Purplish manganese oxides preferentially coat part of the ball, adding character. An excellent example of this olmiite habit and color. Ex Marty Zinn Collection # 7377.
