Item Description
An impressive, LARGE CABINET plate of massive hematite richly covered with balls and bowtie-like balls of very glassy and gemmy, rose-brown to tan, elongated orthorhombic crystals of olmiite from the recent, Fall 2008 find at the famous Nchwaning II Mine of South Africa. This is a excellent large, example from this find and it really glows a beautiful rose-red with good light. Bruising is noted. Olmiite was formerly known as poldervaartite, prior to recent extensive testing.
