Item Description

An excellent, 208 cm translucent and showy group of well-crystallized pinkish-orange Olmiite with smaller Olmiites on matrix from the type locality. A very aethetic small cabinet sized specimen with a very good sized "ball" at the top. Excellent quality and aesthetically sitting on matrix to boot! This mineral is truly found in one part of the world in fine display specimens, and the color is so distinctive and unique that it really stands out as one of the most significant NEWLY discovered minerals in the last 10 years. Keep in mind that virtually all of these specimens were labeled as being Poldervaartite, which now is an exceptionally rare species. This particular piece is from the collection of Tom Gressman, and his label does say Poldervaartite on the bottom, though it is truly and Olmiite. Priced in our inventory at $950.
