Item Description
Fine, very attractive Olmiite on matrix. Olmiite often is found in any of three distinct habits, and this 2.5 cm crystal (a cluster of fine blades, in reality) is a combination of habits where the one side of the classic bowtie has developed into a near sphere. The asymmetry is interesting mineralogically and visually fetching. The Olmiite has excellent luster, an attractive tan color, and the blades that form the overal habit are opaque. The Olmiite bowtie lies perfectly on a plate of matrix, creating excellent balance and good aesthetics.
