Item Description

Olivenite and turquoise are very rare from the famous and ancient mines at Horni Slavkov and are exceptionally rare in combination, such as this very fine and showy piece from the Herb Obodda dealer stock. A dense cluster of gemmy, glass-green, olivenite needles lines a vug and partially engulfs the side of a 1.2 cm terminated quartz crystal. Nearbly are classic blue turquoise crystals and crusts, more olivenite needles and botryoidal malachite and sky-blue chrysocolla. The 3-dimensional matrix is oxide-coated quartz. Old-time, very rare combination material and comes with a faded Schortmanns label, probably dating prior to World War II.
