Wheal Gorland olivenite and quartz specimens are a Cornwall classic and this is a showy and rich small cabinet. Sparkling, gemmy, rich green olivenite crystals fill a 4.3 cm long vug very attractively perched on the sculptural oxide-coated quartz matrix. A bit of contacting and bruising is noted, but this remains a highly representative example of the combination species and famous locale. Old-time, high quality classic combination material. Primary production at this famous locale was over by 1852! Notably, this is the much more rare habit of actual crystallized olivenite, as opposed to the more common style of botryoidal, rounded "wood style" olivenite from here. Although, all is rare!
