Item Description
Tsumeb arguably produced the worlds finest olivenite specimens, with the top pieces coming out in the mid-1970s. Gemmy and lustrous, olive-green crystals to 1.1 cm are aesthetically set in a vug in massive chalcocite ore. Glassy quartz prisms and a lighter green mineral lining the vug are super accents. Gemmy olivenite crystals of this style and quality are rare and highly desirable from Tsumeb and the association with quartz makes this piece even rarer. Under a loupe it is GORGEOUS and the color is among the most phenomenal I have seen in the species. The base has been sawed to enhance the considerable display quality. Very fine combination material from the Robert Lambert and Howard Belsky Collections. valued $500-750
