Item Description

A rich, rare olivenite specimen from oldtime finds at this important old mining district. Intensely sparkly stellate sprays of translucent, olive-gray, acicular crystals cover the matrix on this rich and excellent example from this famous locale. These are large crystals for the locale and species. Because they have an unusual color for olivenite, they were mislabelled as arthurite (Arthurite is a rare hydrated phosphate with Cu, Fe and As. ) but RAMAN analysis proves it is, rather, unusual olivenite. Older material. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection.
